Dinosaur Dance Project | Lets Dig up a Dinosaur

Enlightening our youth to these challenges of our world is a way to build the collective conscious. This song aims to do that in a fun way. Here is how it came to be:

A few months ago my friend Karlyn called and asked if I could help move some dinosaurs, I said OK. Given the size of the dinosaurs and where they needed to be brought and returned I figured they would be in my life for three days! That night I woke up at 3AM with dinosaurs on the brain and wrote a song. And because of the outpouring of support the song has become a whole project about global warming. Teachers have discovered combining movement with learning is an awesome way to teach young children, I am supposing it works with adults too. So I am looking to get this song out everywhere to help build global warming awareness and responsibility for our world.

Here’s where you come in; Please consider making a videos of the dance and post them with the hashtag #letsdigupadinosaur to get this song out. Here are links to the song and video. There are a few sections to the song so you can pick the one you like. Over 25 people have already helped, we have danced in office buildings, in front of train stations and in back yards. See photos at the bottom of this post!

Let’s Dig up a Dinosaur Lyrics

Let’s go dig up some dinosaurs, see what we will find!

They were so much fun you know, before they declined.

Let’s go dig up some dinosaurs, they knew how to move!

They could march and wander

They could really grove

Come on, let’s move and prance

Do the dinosaur dance!

First, it’s the T-Rex!

Scrunch up your arms small and close to you!

Squat down real low, like the T-Rexes do!

Next, it’s the Diplodocus!

Stretch up your arm to reach the sky!

Stretch out your long tail behind and spin yourself around!

Now, it’s the Velociraptor!

Get out your three claws on each hand!

Eat everything in sight as fast as you can!

Last but not least, get on your hands and feet!

Here comes Stegosaurus, strong and slow!

Why he has all these plates – nobody knows!

Let’s go dig up some dinosaurs, see what we will find!

They were so much fun you know, before they declined.

Let’s go dig up some dinosaurs, they knew how to move!

They could march and wander

They could really grove

Come on, let’s move and prance

Do the dinosaur dance!

Lots of different dinosaurs dancing all around.

We’ll keep on digging to see if any can be found!

Carnivores and herbivores, but they ain’t round here no more!

Dinosaurs eating and playing – going about their day.

They’re just doing the dino thing, they don’t know any other way!

Let’s go dig up some dinosaurs, see what we will find!

They were so much fun you know, before they declined.

Let’s go dig up some dinosaurs, they knew how to move!

They could march and wander

They could really grove

Come on, let’s move and prance

Do the dinosaur dance!

Dinosaurs all over the world, not paying much attention.

Climate change, food supply – no one ever mentioned!

Sky was getting dark, food was hard to find,

Little did the dinos know that they were out of time!

Dancing and digging for dinosaurs, what can we learn?

We gotta take care of our planet – now it is our turn!

Let’s go dig up some dinosaurs, see what we will find!

They were so much fun you know, before they declined.

Let’s go dig up some dinosaurs, they knew how to move!

They could march and wander

They could really grove

Come on, let’s move and prance

Do the dinosaur dance!

Come on, let’s move and prance

Do the dinosaur dance!
